Megabucks Doubler is a popular state-specific lottery game offered by the Massachusetts Lottery. Players choose six numbers from a pool of 1 to 49. To win the jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn. The jackpot starts at $500,000 and rolls over, increasing in value with each draw until won.
A unique feature of Megabucks Doubler is the "Doubler" component. During each drawing, one of the six numbers drawn is randomly designated as the Doubler number. If a player's ticket includes this Doubler number AND they win a non-jackpot prize (i.e., by matching 3, 4, or 5 numbers), their prize is automatically doubled! The Doubler feature applies to approximately 1 in 7 winning tickets. This feature is automatically included with every Megabucks Doubler ticket.
Drawings for Megabucks Doubler are held twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday evening at 9:00 PM ET. Tickets cost $1 per play.
Players can choose their own numbers or opt for a "Quic Pic" to have the terminal randomly select numbers for them. Prizes range from $5 for matching three numbers up to the multi-million dollar jackpot.
All prizes, except the jackpot, can be doubled if the Doubler feature is activated on a winning ticket. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 49.
